After careful consideration, I have decided to cut some scenes I had originally planned for Shadows Book 1, which will result in the story ending sooner than expected. Although I still have a few chapters left to write, there are significantly fewer than I had initially envisioned.

Why were the scenes cut? There are several reasons for this, but it ultimately boils down to two key factors.

First, it feels like the characters have had enough experiences, even though they won’t visit all the areas of the asylum. Second, as I get closer to finishing the book, I have been researching the next steps and realized just how expensive hiring an editor can be. I never fully understood when writers said their stories had “too many words,” but now I do, especially since most editors charge a fee per word. The larger the manuscript, the more expensive it becomes.

Despite the scenes that were cut, major events are still unfolding in these last few chapters, and I’m eager to share the story with all of you.
