LAUGHTER AND CRYING
I look all around me,
But there’s nothing to see,
Just flames licking at me,
From the dumpster fires of my life,
Why do I always have to pay a price?
Why can’t I live free from this misery?
Torn apart by every side,
Trying to figure out what is right,
And if I do wrong, what happens then?
For I know the world won’t play pretend,
They extort until the last dime,
It feels like I’m running out of time,
Time to be better,
But I just stay the same,
I’m so used to this stupid game,
That if I were to laugh,
I’d cry the next day,
Things just happen that way,
And if I cry today,
To laugh tomorrow,
People will say I’ve overcome my sorrow,
Such a sweet lie that people like to tell,
For I’m not better and I’m certainly not well,
Sorrow and laughter as the cycle begins,
Is someone out there?
Can we be friends?
I’ve cried and laughed for way too long
My life is like playing ping pong,
Bounce back and forth,
Till the emotions tire me out,
My life is a game,
That makes me shout,
Shout for fairness,
Plead my life,
I just want everything to be concise.
