Tiny writing update: I haven’t made as much progress as I thought, lol.
It only truly hit me today that Where The Shadows Lie has already been out in the world for five months. Even though I just published Lingering Shadows, that manuscript has been ready since April. Yet, despite all this time, I still haven’t started writing Shadows book 3. I tried to begin it a couple of weeks ago, but it didn’t go anywhere. Plotting has never been my strong suit. Usually, I write as inspiration strikes and, after the first few chapters, I can outline the rest of the book. But Shadows 3 seems determined to break my usual process. I know fragments of the story, but the words just won’t come. Last night, I started to outline the first chapter. Progress is slow, but at least I have more to work with than before. I hope to properly dive into Shadows 3 before the end of the month. On the Soulshifter series front, I’ve nearly finished the first chapter. I suspect my creative block is stress-related, which means it might resolve on its own. Even if I’m not actively adding to the word count every day, I’m hoping that in a few weeks I’ll be able to give an actual update.
